Air New Zealand relocates to TBIT at LAX; now uses the Star Alliance lounge

Today Air New Zealand relocated from Los Angeles international airport Terminal 2, where it used to be co-located with fellow Star Alliance member Air Canada, to the swanky, recently renovated Tom Bradley International Terminal.

The move is a major enhancement for Air New Zealand’s passengers, who will enjoy significantly upgraded amenities including a stunning atrium with exciting video displays, 150,000 square feet of retail and dining space, and faster immigration procedures.

Business Premier and Star Alliance Gold passengers now have access to the beautiful Star Alliance Lounge located on a mezzanine overlooking the terminal and the Hollywood hills. Designed and operated by Air New Zealand, this new and huge facility – 1,675 sqm or 18,000 sqf – features multiple seating areas including private rooms, an exciting wrap-around terrace with an outdoor section complete with fire pits, a large dining area, and eight well-appointed shower suites.

The design is a highlight, with dim lights, gorgeous hardwood floors, high ceilings, white curtains which project a living room vibe, artwork, photographs by Peter Lik, a wall of wine bottles, and a water wall. As for the buffet, it offers a generous selection of cold and hot entrees, a noodle bar, as well a variety of alcoholic beverages including Champagne.

A visit to the Star Alliance Lounge is a treat – we consider this lounge to be the best in LAX, and most definitely the best Star Alliance branded lounge in the world.

Air New Zealand currently operates up to three daily flights out of LAX, linking Los Angeles with Auckland, New Zealand and London, UK, all operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
