The Cathay Pacific The Pier Business Class Lounge at Hong Kong airport received a complete facelift, along with a significant expansion, in May 2016. The rejuvenated lounge boasts the airline’s new design conceived by Studioilse, which was already featured at the adjacent The Pier First Class Lounge.

Despite humongous dimensions – at over 35,500 sqf. (3,300 sqm), the lounge seats 500 passengers and is Cathay Pacific’s largest worldwide – the space exudes a serene and luxurious vibe, with a strong residential atmosphere. The designers want The Pier to feel like a home away from home, with a décor that emphasizes natural materials, light, and privacy.

Patrons will find Solus chairs offering a high degree of privacy, a relaxation room, solo chairs by the windows, as well as traditional lounge seating. Indoor plants, lightweight partitions and timber screens break out the space.

The Cathay Pacific The Pier Business Class Lounge features a strong food and beverage selection, with a wide range of appetizers, cold and hot dishes – including the signature noodle bar – as well as an assortment of alcoholic beverages, an espresso cart, and a tea house with specialty offerings.

Fourteen shower suites as available, as well as a business center with Macs and PCs.

American Airlines Admirals Club members do not have access to Cathay Pacific lounges unless their ticket or status qualifies.

First Class Lounge: Amazing lounge experience. The sit down restaurant has a very thorough selection of food, and a huge drink list too (with a variety of both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages).

Huge number of shower suites available. Very clean and great amenities provided. There is also a spa with massages, but I did not try it.

One of the best lounges I’ve been to!
