Diamond Lounge – Brussels (BRU) Terminal B (non-Schengen)

The Diamond Lounge at Brussels Airport Concourse B (non-Schengen) is an independently operated lounge which welcomes passengers on a pay-in basis regardless of airline and class of service, members of lounge access programs such as Priority Pass, as well as premium and elite customers of select airlines. Another Diamond Lounge is located in Concourse A for passengers traveling within Europe’s Schengen zone.

The spacious Diamond Lounge boasts a modern and eye pleasing décor.

Next to the reception desk is the buffet area featuring a large island under hanging ceiling lights. Behind a translucent partition is another serving area with a beverage cooler outfitted with blue LEDs. The partition acts as a screen on which shadows and colors mesh into a living and moving display, giving the room a dynamic and eclectic vibe.

Beyond the buffet area is a large, sparsely furnished seating area outfitted with warm tones and light hardwood floors. A floor to ceiling window reveals close up views of the tarmac and lets plenty of natural light in.

The designers have put an emphasis on providing a variety of seating arrangements to suit all needs. Individual travelers will find cube chairs which offer a high degree of privacy, while small groups will enjoy the living room like setup with couches and comfy seats around coffee tables. There are also large round tables throughout, and a dining table for six in the center.

A few partitions and accessories break up the space. The design strikes the right balance between elegance, convenience and functionality. The only lowlight is perhaps the lack of power outlets – while they can be found along the walls, they’re lacking in the center of the room.

The Diamond Lounge doesn’t offer a substantial food selection, but patrons may enjoy a substantial snack and a chilled beverage. The food spread is unpretentious, with fare including snacks, crudités, cold cuts, and yoghurt. The beverage selection is significantly more expansive, with a large cooler filled with a variety of juices, soft drinks, wines, and Belgian beers. Speaking of beer, there are two local brews on tap with fancy high-tech dispensers. There is also an espresso machine as well as an assortment of teas.

In lieu of a traditional business center, the lounge features several extremely private recessed booths that seem to be carved into the interior wall. Each booth comes with a bench, table, lamp, and PC. Some will likely find them a tad claustrophobic, but the degree of privacy and tranquility that they provide is outstanding.

Two shower suites are available in the back of the room. Towels and bath amenities are provided.

A large selection of newspapers and magazines is also available.

Unfortunately, the Diamond Lounge does not offer a dedicated Wi-Fi access point. Complimentary access codes for the airport’s public network are available by the reception desk, though it should be noted that they’re one time use only and expire after 120 minutes. Officially patrons qualify for one code only and are supposed to purchase Wi-Fi when their access expires, though in practice they may ask for a new code.

Overall, the Diamond Lounge at Brussels Airport Concourse B (non-Schengen) is a pleasant and well-appointed lounge with a simple yet elegant design which offers patrons plenty of personal space, and a solid range of amenities including showers.
