Overall ratings
Visited recently and was a little disappointed. It’s a good option for a more quiet lounge but the food available at lunchtime was so poor I wasn’t able to eat any of the options available.
I’m sure the soup was tinned although rubbed soup probably would have treated better.
Service and bar is good, as is the ambience.
A well laid out and positioned lounge at Sydney International T1. Being in an Etihad lounge anywhere in the world, their styling is so consistent that you could be anywhere in the world. And their lounge in Sydney is no exception.
I have used this lounge prior to Etihad flight departures to Abu Dhabi, but also recently prior to a Virgin Australia flight to Hong Kong. Etihad flights to Abu Dhabi are afternoon and evening, so using the lounge for a morning departure was different. Breakfast hot foods were really disappointing, but the drinks, coffee and cold food selection were fantastic. The bar was even staffed for some champagne.
Lounge is located towards gates 50-60. After the 2 travelling walkways after security, you turn left and the lounge in just on the left – beside the Amcal pharmacy. Because it is just around a corner it is easy to miss.
Lounge has showers and VERY clean bathrooms (2 x staff are always standing near the doors, and clean as soon as you leave). There’s also a kids play room plus quiet office desks. Seating options are either dining tables & chairs, lounge chairs facing gate 50, or some bar stools.
Actual lounge gets 5 stars. The breakfast service gets 4.
