I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at the lounge in Baku. I had booked passes for myself and my two parents, but arrived just 5 minutes before them. Despite this, the staff member at the front desk rudely informed me that I would need to purchase new passes for my parents.
While I understand the policy, the staff member’s demeanor was completely unacceptable. She was unfriendly, unhelpful, and made no effort to find a reasonable solution. To make matters worse, their scanner system malfunctioned, causing further delays in registering us.
I had planned to spend 20 minutes in the lounge to say goodbye to my parents before boarding my flight. The staff was aware I had paid for 5 people in total, yet still obstinately made me wait.
When I expressed my dissatisfaction with how I was being treated, the staff member escalated the situation by calling security in an apparent attempt to intimidate me. This left my parents and I utterly shocked and appalled.
While the lounge itself is decent, the unacceptable conduct and customer service displayed by this particular staff member completely ruined our experience. The lounge management should address this behavior, as it reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole and detracts from what could otherwise be a pleasant layover for travelers. I regret that this incident marred my time in Baku.
