The Matina lounge at Seoul Incheon airport by gate 43 is part of the Transit Hotel – the hotel lounge doubles as a passenger lounge, and welcome pay-in customers, as well as Priority Pass card holders. There are two similar Matina lounges and Transit Hotels located at either end of the concourse, on the east side by gate 11 and on the west side by gate 43, on the mezzanine level.
Matina Lounge ICN design
The small lounge consists of a single room which is setup as a dining area with tables and chairs. On the plus side, this means plenty of space to work on a laptop, while on the negative side, there are no lounge chairs or otherwise comfortable seating options conducive to relaxation, reading or a nap.
Outside breakfast hours, the space is often eerily quiet and feels very private.
Matina Lounge ICN amenities
The highlight of the Matina Lounge is the generous buffet featuring a choice of salads, hot entrees, noodles, as well an enjoyable selection of international desserts. Ironically, the food spread is a step above the fare at the nearby Asiana Business Lounge. However, the beverage selection is limited to soft drinks, generic beer, and a red and a white wines.
Adjacent to the dining area is a small business center with self-service computers and printers.
Showers are available for a fee. Note that during business hours Incheon airport operates free showers, which happen to be located right outside the Transit Hotel on the mezzanine level, so consider that option prior to paying for a shower.
Matina Lounge ICN bottom line
If you don’t have access to an airline lounge and happen to be a Priority Pass member, the Matina lounge at Seoul Incheon airport is a good option for a tasty meal on the ground in a quiet environment, but don’t expect fancy amenities. An alternative is the two SkyHub lounges, which are also conveniently located by gate 11 and gate 43. While much more crowded and noisier, they offer an even more expansive buffet.
- The generous buffet.
- The quiet seating area.
- The small size of the facility.
- The lack of lounge chairs.

Overall ratings
At 7pm on a Wednesday night this lounge was full with a queue of 20+ people waiting for entry. Entry was only allowed when current guests left. Estimated wait time 30 minutes. Fortunately there was a pleasant airport bar nearby which I used instead.
Good buffet, quiet environment, but very limited amenities and seating.
