Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge LHR design
The elegantly crafted batik screen in the reception area sets the tone: the visual, a worldwide symbol of the renovated Silver Kris lounges hints at a sophisticated space beyond. The First Class lounge is discreetly located behind a door on the left side.
Upon entering the lounge, patrons are greeted with a hot towel and the drink of their choice. It’s a token gesture – drinks are self-serve and available in abundance, but it makes a strong first impression.
Physically, the lounge is gorgeous. Unlike the adjacent SilverKris Lounge, it features a large panoramic window, which lets plenty of natural light in. The space is tastefully appointed, with luxurious touches. With designer furniture, high end wood and marble finishes, soft colors, artwork, fresh flower arrangements, and a manicured buffet, the Singapore First Class lounge combines high end elegance with understated luxury.
Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge LHR amenities
A variety of seating arrangements caters to every need, with a strong emphasis on privacy. Feel like gazing at airplanes? You’ll find Singapore Airlines’ new signature high backed chairs by the window, which offer an ideal plane spotting vantage point, better enjoyed with a cocktail. Need to catch up on work? Check out the productivity and relaxation pods – similar to high-end business class suites, they offer a seat and a table with high partitions for privacy, and are outfitted with an LED lamp and a pillow. But if they scream “business class” too much (they have proven to be wildly popular at the renovated SilverKris lounges) then you’ll be happy to know that you may retire to one of the two larger, individual alcoves outfitted with a plush recliner, a floor lamp, a table, and your very own fresh flowers. Traveling with a group or your family? A living room with a TV features couches and a relaxing vibe. Finally, traditional seating is of course available and combines opulence with convenience, with marble side tables and individual lamps and power outlets at every seat.
Should hunger strike, multiple options are available, ranging from a quick snack to an entrée from the buffet — or a full sit-down meal with table service. Just sit at one of the tables by the window, and a server will promptly present you with the menu of dishes are cooked to order. As for the buffet, it features the airline’s “Taste of Singapore” concept, with a variety of freshly cooked Asian and Western dishes. A great variety of drinks, including Champagne, is available. Traditional English tea is also served daily.
Elegant shower rooms are available and do not require a reservation or inquiry – just come in when they’re free. The suites come with an amenity kit with branded lotions and gels. Overall, while nice and functional, the facilities are a bit more modest than the United Club‘s spa inspired shower suites.
Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge LHR bottom line
Overall, the Singapore Airlines First Class lounge at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 is an intimate oasis of understated opulence. With the relatively small number of First Class passengers, and restrictive access rules (even top-tier status flyers don’t have access), the lounge remains extremely quiet throughout the day. It’s easy to fall in love at first sight.
- The elegant design with luxurious touches.
- The private alcoves.
- The sit-down meal service.
- The showers are on the small side — because we had to find one area for improvement.

Overall ratings
Possibly the smallest lounge in Terminal 2 , but very nice interior and only a few passengers so plenty of seats available. You can sit either restaurant-style in the buffet-area or find a more relaxing atmosphere in the next room. Both offer large windows and nice apron view. Very attentive service, you get a hot towel upon arrival for example.
Food can be ordered from the menu or you can help yourself at the small but very nice buffet. Choice of beverages was fine as well.
Free WIFI, newspapers and magazines.
An excellent, intimate and luxurious lounge.
