Overview

Remodeled in 2023, the South African Airways International Premium Lounge at Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport Terminal A (also known as “The Lounge”) is the flag carrier’s flagship club.

Conceived in partnership with partnership with Discovery and Investec, The Lounge welcomes Business and First Class customers traveling internationally with South African Airways (SAA) and Star Alliance partners, as well as Discovery Bank Platinum, Black and Purple card holders, and Investec Visa Infinite, Platinum, Business and Youth cardholders. Credit card holders can visit the lounge no matter which airline they’re flying.

The South African Airways International Premium Lounge features an expansive and luminous sitting area designed for both work and relaxation. Plush armchairs with ottomans facing the windows offer a commanding view over the tarmac, while nooks and booths provide a more private and intimate alternative. Universal power outlets are available throughout the space.

The club boasts a remarkable array of amenities, including a generous hot buffet, a cocktail bar, handcrafted coffee drinks made by trained baristas with luxurious Italian La Marzocco machines, private conference rooms, and shower suites.

South African Airways Voyager Platinum elites, along with Discovery Purple card and Investec Visa Infinite cardholders, are welcome to visit the adjacent Platinum Lounge for a more private experience and elevated amenities.

SAA Business Class passengers departing on a same-day SAA or Star Alliance flight (no guests)
SAA Voyager Lifetime Platinum members departing on a same-day SAA or Star Alliance flight (+3 guests)
SAA Voyager Platinum and Platinum Elect members departing on a same-day SAA or Star Alliance flight (+2 guests)
SAA Voyager Gold and Gold Elect members departing on a same-day SAA or Star Alliance flight (+1 guest)
SAA Voyager Silver and Silver Elect members< departing on a same-day SAA flight (no guests)
SAA/NEDBANK Platinum Credit Card holders departing on a same-day SAA flight (no guests)
Discovery Bank Platinum, Black and Purple card holders departing on any flight
