The SWISS Senator Lounge at Zurich airport Dock A is located just a few steps beyond the security checkpoint, a short walk from most Schengen gates.
The lounge welcomes Star Alliance Gold members and Miles & More Senator customers departing on flights within Europe’s Schengen zone. Business Class passengers and Miles & More Frequent Travelers will be directed to the adjacent SWISS Business Lounge.
SWISS Senator Lounge ZRH design
Remodeled in July 2018, the SWISS Senator Lounge stretches across three levels, with the lobby on the concourse level, an expansive seating and dining area on the upper floor, and a stylish relaxation area on the top floor with panoramic views of the tarmac (where the smoking area and bar used to be located.)
The design is based on the blueprint of the widely acclaimed SWISS Senator Lounge in Dock E. The stylish space incorporates signature SWISS design features, such as a bright oiled-Swiss-oak parquet floors, accent walls made of Jura stone, and minimalist furniture by Vitra and deSede.
On the second floor, the lounge compensates for the lack of natural light with warm natural tones, while on the top floor, the open layout embraces the expansive views.
Guests have their choice of traditional lounge seating, reclining chairs, lounge suites, and secluded work areas. Most seats come with power outlets and an individual lamp.
SWISS Senator Lounge ZRH amenities
The SWISS Senator Lounge at Zurich airport Dock A features an assortment of snacks and cold cuts with an emphasis on Swiss fare, such as muesli at breakfast time and Movenpick ice cream. On the beverage front, the selection includes soft drinks, espresso, and an assortment of self-serve red and white wines. SWISS also offers “front-cooking”, hot dishes prepared on demand in an open kitchen.
Five shower rooms are available. Towel and bath amenities are provided.
With the remodel, SWISS has done away with the expansive smoking area (which used to boast the longest serviced bar in the world) in order to create a more inviting social space. Smokers will find a new, smaller outdoor area.
Other features include shared computers and a selection of newspapers and magazines.

Overall ratings
although it was completely renovated a couple of years ago, this lounge is already showing its age. But the main issue is that it is systematically overcrowded. Even the staff shows frustration about the fact that it is very common not to be able to get two seats together.
Renovated a couple of years ago, this lounge is pleasant and well-designed but is always too crowded. It is not unusual to be unable to sit together.
Cozy japanese inspired design and very comfy resting zone with view on the tarmac. Really nice and lovely catering staff, always very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the lounge is ALWAYS overcrowded due to the cost saving spirit of SWISS. Even lounge employees have expressed annoyance to me several times about the poor management in general, which is always a bad sign to start with. For example now in 2021 there’s only 1 lounge open (senator) with long queues outside, despite passenger numbers bouncing back rapidly.
Nice design but unfortunately the lounge is very often too crowded and you can’t find a seat, last time I had to stand for long time to get a seat. Really disappointing for a brand new lounge, I hope they find a solution!
Ok but limited choice
Good internet connection.
Nice design, modern and airy. It can get very crowded- at my last visit there was no seat left so I had to wait to get a seat – it felt like being in a subway station….
Limited choice and average quality
Nice shower facilities
Nice new design, airy. Nice is the area on the second floor with quite zone. The first floor is very crowded and can get noisy.
Limited food choice and average quality -no difference to business class lounge
Nice shower rooms.
Rather poor selection of food, cheap Fleischkaese, pasta or rice, the only good stuff they have is Movenpick ice cream
Very often overcrowded, difficult to find a seat
Carpets should be washed as they are kind of stinking
Pros: nice selection of newspapers and smokers bar/drink bar serving nice cocktails on level 3
A solid lounge in every regard. A bit busy, a bit dark at times, but a classy environment with a number of amenities and good food. If only all business class lounges could be similar…
