Overall ratings
The Emirates 1st Class Lounge at Fiumicino has been closed for more than a year, since the fire in Terminal 3; the alternative, operated by Alitalia, is very crowded … in fact, you’ll be lucky to find a seat. I expected much better service from Emirates. The physical space is inadequate. The food is basic but OK. The amenities are also basic – but, again, the crowd of people in the lounge is a major problem.
In my opinion, the cramped conditions in the lounge justify a low (1-star) rating – in fact, I doubt that, as a 1st class lounge, it deserves any stars at all.
Of course, the lounge wasn’t built, and isn’t operated, as a 1st class lounge: but it is where 1st class passengers are sent. As you can see, I am very underwhelmed.
