Rounding up Star Alliance’s move under one roof at London Heathrow, Singapore Airlines unveiled this week their anticipated SilverKris lounge in Terminal 2 (“The Queen’s Terminal”.)
The SilverKris lounge boasts Singapore Airlines’ new “home away from home” design concept, which was rolled out earlier this year in Sydney and Hong Kong, and is part of a US $79 million improvement plan to refresh worldwide SilverKris lounges.
Conceived by ONG&ONG, the design includes signature elements such as a batik screen, art pieces, individual productivity pods, high-backed chairs, and a variety of open, flexible spaces.
The lounge has separate areas for Business and First Class customers and offers a total of 208 seats.
Business class customers will enjoy a buffet featuring the airline’s “Taste of Singapore” concept, with a variety of complimentary freshly cooked Asian and Western dishes. A bartender will craft cocktails and serve a selection of wines, beers, Champagne and spirits.
First Class passengers are treated to a welcome drink and hotel towel service upon arrival, and also benefit from a rotating a-la-carte menu. A staple of London First Class lounges, traditional afternoon tea will also be served.
All customers will also enjoy power outlets and USB plugs throughout, as well as several shower suites and a kids’ play area.

The lounge is available to Business and First Class customers travelling with Singapore Airlines or other Star Alliance carriers, Star Alliance Gold passengers, PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold members, and United Club and Air Canada Maple Leaf lounge members.
The opening of the Singapore Airlines SilverKris lounge brings the number of lounges operated by Star Alliance members to a whopping seven, highlighting the heated competition in the London market – just a year ago, most Star Alliance airlines relied on a single underwhelming shared club in Terminal 1. The other lounge operators are United (United Club, United Global First Lounge, Arrivals Lounge), Lufthansa (Business Lounge, Senator Lounge), and Air Canada (Maple Leaf Lounge), and passengers may roam freely between the different lounges.
